I have the honour to transmit for your

information the accompanying copies of a further amendment to

the General Orders, in connection with the regulations for

Cadets. It is regretted that your Despatch No. 217 of the

6th. October, 1899, with its enclosure, was overlooked at the

time of the preparation of the Orders.

I have also to inform you that General

Order 41 should be amended by adding the post of "Assessor of

Rates to those posts to which, if qualified, Cadets have a

preferential claim. This is in accordance with your Despatch

No. 138 of May 11th., 1900.
